When Swedev was on the verge of being sold, owner Jarl Hallberg made a defining decision: to keep the company in Munkfors.
“We wanted to keep it here and see what it could become,” he says.
That choice, combined with skilled staff and expertise in band steel, became the foundation for a long-term commitment to local production and global quality.
Swedev’s culture has always been defined by care, openness, and trust. “The most important resource we have is our staff,” says Jarl.

As Mats Björkegren, Head of Quality & Development, puts it:
“We’re constantly developing our blades, testing ideas and incorporating what we learn into the next version. It’s a continuous process.”
That commitment is reflected in ongoing developments across Swedev’s product portfolio -not least in recent updates like H9 Plus, the next-generation refinement of H7, and more innovations already on the horizon.
Since taking over as CEO, Pernilla Melén has deepened the company’s focus on lean processes and meaningful communication.

Her leadership continues to shape Swedev’s strategic focus on sustainability, product quality, innovation, customer service, and brand strength.
